I laugh at my own jokes before I finish telling them, I will argue passionately about a movie I have not seen, and I have opinions about a wine I cannot pronounce. I am usually the first person to say the thing everyone was already thinking, and the first one to leave. Occasionally within the same hour. Ambiverts, stand up!
I'm also introspective, a proud bookworm (I read 120 books each and EVERY year, thank you), a lover of the sea, and a harassing little sister. I will quiz you about Game of Thrones in the morning and argue the merits of the latest "Versus" at noon.
The other version of me spent 25 years being extremely reasonable. Reading the room, adjusting my tone, taking the note, waiting for a better moment that never quite arrived, and getting called “too direct” by people who meant something else entirely.
Viola Jean is what happens when I stopped playing pretend.
I built this community because I wanted somewhere to be the Saturday version of me on a Tuesday with women who are not going to ask me why I'm like this. And who may actually top my “why not” attitude!
I don't have to explain myself here, and neither will you.

For a long time, I wore my busy-ness like a badge of honor. As a wife, a mom, and a dedicated professional, my default setting was always on the go. I grew accustomed to running on empty to get things done. But the truth? I was exhausted and giving 100% to every area of my life while running on fumes. I wouldn't slow down so my body finally stepped in like "Since you won't choose rest, sis, I'll choose it for you!" It sat me all the way down for weeks! I thought my body was failing me at first, but it was really just giving me the grace and rest I wouldn't give myself.
My career has always been fueled by a deep passion for people, hearing stories, understanding journeys, building communities, and supporting growth. However, it was through the reflection of a personal loss that I truly realized the importance of pouring back into myself.
The Resting Space is a reflection of that journey. It’s a community built from my own lived experience, designed to give women permission to finally slow down, breathe, and find collective rest.
We are in this together!
